Friends —
In the following media hits, I argue that the U.S. must focus its full attention on de-escalating the crisis, which includes removing U.S. forces from the region as they remain targets for adversarial groups. I also discuss on NBC how Netanyahu’s speech is informative of Israel’s ground incursion strategy in Gaza.
Thoughts welcome.

Daniel, I haven't heard anyone ask this question. How can Israel have the ability to execute an incredibly complex plan to make sure 5,000 pagers get to exactly the right people that all explode at once and at the same time have no idea that Oct 7th was going to happen? I had a brief but albeit personal encounter with Mossad in '84. It was piss your pants chilling and at the time, I was glad they were on our side. That said, my turnip truck wounds healed in 1995. The pagers and the "surprise" attack just can't exist at the same time in this universe. Am I out in the weeds?

This present campaign, like many a prior campaign, could hardly be envisioned as a spontaneous, reflexive response to unsettling contemporary border events.
It's genesis predates this by many decades, following familiar patterns.
And so . . .
More generally, something of what it was that actually built The West or, alternatively presented, How The West Was Actually Won.
