There'll be No ARTIFICIAL END to the Ukraine Russia War /Lt Col Daniel Davis & Jennifer Kavanagh

Putin will make sure of that!

Putin is not intimidated by Trump’s threats, additional U.S. military aid, or economic pressure. He still holds a battlefield advantage and sees Trump's 50-day ultimatum as an opportunity to consolidate gains over the summer before potential fall negotiations. Putin is deeply invested in the war, tying his legacy to its outcome, and is prepared to endure higher costs—including potential mobilization or economic strain—to achieve his goals.
Trump's ultimatum, therefore, does not pressure Putin into negotiations but instead puts Trump in a difficult position: either enforce economic penalties that may hurt the U.S. or back down and appear weak.
