We're getting down to where we'll finally see how the smo shakes out for the Oligarchs.

The particulars of the Troop and artillery movements aren't that significant, because Pokrovsk, for example, was effectively taken over by Putin way back in January. Much earlier than that, really, but we'll just say January 2025, because the steel industry and coal mine and coke plant are all out of service and the population is fewer than 2000 now. Down from 20 times that many.

And since they were 60% Russian Speakers when there were 60,000 residents of Pokrovsk, we might assume the remaining 2000 or fewer people are at least 60% Russian Speakers.

Anyhow, Pokrovsk has been a cauldron for months and months. A de facto No Man's Land, because Putin will never be able to hold it as Russian, per se.

The Russian, Ukrainian, German, GB and US Oligarchs are having to work out the details of what Pokrovsk will look like from here on out.

Maybe it'll turn out like Birmingham, Alabama, which was the "Pittsburgh of the South" many decades ago. All 3 ingredients for producing steel are naturally occurring in Birmingham, but for some reason we don't make steel in Birmingham much any more.

My major concern is for the old churches there in Pokrovsk. There used to be a significant Armenian Demographic, who were the original Christians. That's where Noah's Ark landed, but Turkey took it away, Mount Ararat, from Armenia some time ago.
